MARAUDERS CLAIM BBB #14 CHAMPIONSHIP!

The San Diego Marauders defeated the Alpine Golfers in a game that owner Lef Grebo said "wasn't pretty". 13-9 was the final in Monday nights championship game. The win was icing on the cake for the Marauders, who finish the season at 19-1 overall. San Diego now heads to USA A #7 for Season 4.

SAN DIEGO WINS WESTERN CONFERENCE!

The goal was quite simple. Owner Lef Grebo wanted to host a playoff game. On Saturday night the Marauders did more than that; they played for the Western Conference championship. A 15-1 regular season earned the Marauders the right to home field advantage and it was Albuquerque that travelled to San Diego to do battle with the Marauders. Not only was the game for the Western Conference title, but San Diego wanted to avenge their only loss of the season.

The Marauders avenged that loss 19-3, and earned the right to play Alpine in the USA BBB#14 Championship. Regardless of the outcome of Monday night's game the Marauders will be moving up to USA A, and they are ready.

San Diego saw another good performance from QB Jake Obergfell. One would think that Jake is driver's seat for Offensive Player of the Year in the Western Conference. Saturday night he was 24/41 for 214 yards and 2 touchdowns. The Marauders running back trio of Bo Knowes, Bobby Miley, and Bubba Tuggins combined to rush for just over 100 yards. A pair of San Diego recievers caught 5 passes. They were Tommy Browne, who had 50 yards, and MikeyMac McCabe.

Kicker Jared Fritz was perfect on 4 attempts, and was key to helping San Diego win the game. Punter Joe Cumberland continued to punt well since being acquired as a free agent.

San Diego saw 4 players tie for the team lead in tackles with 4. They were Lester Hayes, Jermy Lehman, Mark Millen, and Max Jones. Hayes and Tyler Hulegaard had interceptions.

The team celebrated on the field for about an hour after the game. Noone went home as they decided to stay and watch film on Alpine. To say the Marauders are excited about Monday night's game would be an understatement. It's been a season where almost nothing has gone wrong, and San Diego hopes that continues versus the Alpine Golfers.

San Diego Cruises To 7-0

The San Diego Marauders have started the season perfect, and are the only team in the Western Conference still unbeaten. Tonight the streak was kept alive by a 41-3 spanking of the Rocky Mountain Rampage. Noone within the Marauder organization has said anything about perfection, but hopes of making the Championship game are stronger than ever.

Offensively the Marauders more than doubled the Rampage in total yards. QB Jake Obergfell led the way as he went 15/25 for 162 yards and 2 touchdown's. HB Bo Knowes rumbled for 109 yards on just 18 carries, he as well added 2 touchdown's. Tommy Browne had 7 receptions and TE Sean Shipley caught 5 passes, one of them being a touchdown.

Marauders Dominate In Season Opener

San Diego ended Season 2 with a bitter taste in their mouth. 3 points away from the Conference Championship, it was a tough loss to take. The team set a goal to be Championship bound in Season 3, and sent a message to the division in their first game versus the Kalamazoo Wolverines. If yesterday's game is any indication of things to come, then the Marauders should not be overlooked. San Diego was dominate in a 43-14 pounding of Kalamazoo, the offense was clicking on all cylinders. The Marauders defense managed to shut out the Wolverines in the first half and only allowed one touchdown each in the third and fourth quarters.

Offensively QB Jake Obergfell had a tremendous day going 11/15 for 162 yards and 3 touchdowns. His backup Airing It Out looked equally as impressive going 14/18 for 111 yards. On the ground it was the Bo Knowes show. It took just 17 carries for Bo to eclipse the century mark and finish the day with 104 yards rushing. Tommy Brown led the way with 6 receptions and Miniero Joe added 5. Though Sir Mustard Ketchup had only 1 catch, it may have been the play of the day as he burnt the defense for a 48 yard touchdown.

It should also be noted that offensive tackle Hogs Offense had 10 pancakes and that kicker Jared Fritz was 5/5 on field goal attempts. John Stark had an interception for the Marauders and Lester "The Molester" Hayes led the defense with 8 tackles.

Offensive game ball goes to Bo Knowes and the defensive gameball goes to Lester Hayes.

Marauders Season Ends With Playoff Loss

San Diego finished it's season with a 12-6 overall record after a loss to the Buffalo Rangers ended their season. The Marauders opened the playoffs with a 31-24 win over Reno 911, but couldn't pull the upset against a highly touted Rangers team. San Diego was the only team to defeat Buffalo in the regular season and have high hopes for Season 3. QB Jake Obergfell had another great game, as did TE Sean Shipley and WR Jesus H Christ to lead the Marauders. With a strong team returning next year, morale is high in the Marauder locker room. As a player on the team I speak for the group when I say: thanks Lef for a good expierience this year, we look forward to next season. The Marauders now shift their attention to two upcoming scrimmage games, in which they hope to learn more about themselves.
